It's ok...
Nothing spectacular to write home about. When I bought this book, I was hoping for the old radio dramas that I used to listen to when I was a kid on Sunday nights. I will say that there were some very good stories. But a few left you rather wanting.

Great reference book!
When I first saw this book I got scared because of the size and weight of it, but when I finally got the courage to open it and start reading it, it surprised me! I found this book to be really good and the pictures are great and help out a lot. The case studies at the end of each chapter are really great and got me to understand more and think about the content of the chapter, which by doing that helped me to remember!! Also the last part of the book: Laboratory methods, was a great help to me both in preparing for class and when it came to writing the report, the book tells you step by step how the procedures are done. I will always keep this book for reference as I know it will help in during my career as a lab technongist.

A Condition of Limbo
Published in Paperback by AmErica House (27 February, 2001)
Author: Barbie Perkins-Cooper
Average review score:

A Touching, Powerful Story
This is a beautifully crafted story of love and caring. When Barbie's father is diagnosed with cancer, he reaches out to her for support. Their past has been a rocky road, but Barbie rises to the occasion.
While serving as his primary caregiver, she is shocked by the things that she learns on this journey. Making sure that her father receives the best medical care is over-shadowed by the knowledge she acquires on elder-care issues.
Her story is a tribute to her father as well as a source of information for the reader. Issues are addressed that we should all be aware of. Long-term nursing care, medicaid, dying with dignity, and many more issues are put out there for the reader to ponder, digest and hopefully become educated to. We will all have to face these problems in some way or another. There is a lot to learn.
I would highly recommend this book. It is both inspirational as well as informative.

Criminal Law
Published in Hardcover by Foundation Press (1982)
Authors: Rollin Morris Perkins and Ronald N. Boyce
Average review score:

Great Overview
The lecture is value packed, a terrific course overview. Methodical and thoughtfully designed. It was a great supplement to my studies. Interestingly, the author, wrote the textbook assigned to my class. I also would highly recommend Dressler's "Casenote" Criminal law outline as source for tons of practical hypo's.

The Crux
Published in Paperback by Duke Univ Pr (Txt) (September, 2003)
Authors: Charlotte Perkins Gilman and Dana Seitler
Average review score:

Essential, entertaining reading for Gilman fans
The Crux is essential reading for anyone seriously interested in the writings of Charlotte Perkins Gilman, and Jennifer S. Tuttle's is to be commended for bringing it to readers in this excellent edition. After having read most of Gilman's other fiction, I will admit that I put off reading this one because of its reputation as "the book about venereal disease" (sexually transmitted diseases). I feared it would be didactic, heavy handed, and depressing. Instead, it's like the best of Gilman's "optimistic reform" books: it treats its serious subject with a light touch, conveying its important ideas through appealing characters and a strong plot with Gilman's typical "happy ending." (Some readers might argue that the ending is a bit implausible, but that's part of the interest of this set of Gilman's writings.) At times, it is laugh-out-loud funny. Also, it's not entirely accurate to say that the book is "about" venereal disease, for although the last third of the book discusses the dangers women faced from sexually transmitted diseases in the years before adequate cures had been discovered, there is much more to the story. It portrays the opportunities for self discovery open to women who move from the stultifying conditions of New England villages to the open life in a new city in the Colorado mountains. The women characters (on whom the story focuses) range from young unmarried women to a seemingly dried-up old maid, a woman doctor, and one of literature's most delightful grandmothers.

My only serious objection to this edition is that University of Delaware Press, for some unaccountable reason, has elected to publish this book only in an expensive hardback edition. The story, along with Tuttle's illuminating introduction and clear explanatory notes, would be highly suitable as a teaching text if the book were available in a reasonably-priced paper edition.

The Diaries of Charlotte Perkins Gilman
Published in Hardcover by University Press of Virginia (December, 1994)
Authors: Charlotte Perkins Gilman and Denise D. Knight
Average review score:

Great Research Book For Term Papers
This book shows how Gilman was truly thinking during her times of her youth to her death. She speaks in her own words which makes it great for researching for term papers. I used this book last Fall to research a paper I was doing for Art of Literature class at College. It helped me trememdously and I think it will help others who read it to learn or read it to do research of her life in a paper for school. It is definitley an A+ in my book of books on Gilman's life.

GETTING TO KNOW CARL PERKINS
THIS IS THE BEST BOOK ON CARL PERKINS I HAVE READ. HE TELLS IT LIKE IT WAS FOR HIM WHILE HE WAS STRUGGLING WITH THE BOTTLE AND REACHING FOR THE TOP OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. THIS BOOK LETS YOU GET A GOOD IDEA OF THE MAN HIMSELF. FROM HIS HUMBLE BEGINNING TO HIS REACH FOR STARDOM, HE NEVER LOST SIGHT OF WHO HE WAS.

Doctor Dolittle and the Pirates
Published in Hardcover by Random House (Merchandising) (June, 1968)
Authors: Hugh Lofting and Perkins
Average review score:

A delightful children's story where pirates can be good too!
I grew up with this book and always found it refreshing to see how someone's real character could be improved even if his outside seemed strongly bad. And, that a person's redemption could take place in his own life (ie. without the necessity of perishing, or being eaten first). Its charming and 'Yellow submarine'-stylish 1968 Dolittle plus the endearing portraits of the familiar push-me-pull-you and other characters combine with swashbuckled pirates in colorful scenery, and a non-preachy happy ending, to make the story a good bedtime reading for small children. I am pleased to pass this book's tattered pages on to our next generation. I hope that someday a publisher will decide to reprint this story: in doing so it would be choosing most wisely.
